I had to reset my passwords for 1 of the systems I work with on a daily basis. That got me to wondering how many different logons/signins etc I use on a daily basis to get my job done. After counting the log ons required for the systems I have running on my monitor right now I count 37.

I just got a message on myspace, my best friend from intermediate and high school wants to friend me. What a happy surprise. I havent spoken to Cindy for at least 7 or 8 years now. I tried to set up a time to hook up again when I went to Hawaii and she never replied to me. I'm tickled that she found me. Ill have to catch up with her. Just from perusing her myspace account I can tell there has been a lot of changes in her life since we last spoke.

On the home front, October is the birthday month for both Mikey and Donald. The birthday presents I've ordered for them are starting to arrive in the mail. Im so bad at this stuff. Like a 5 year old who cant keep a secret. As soon as the gift arrives I get so excited I try to give it to them. Luckily they both know this about me and have more willpower. They refuse to look or take the gifts. They both want to wait for their birthdays. Otherwise, I end up giving the gift to them when it comes in then have to scamble to get birthday presents when the actual date arrive. I'm still a kid a heart when it comes to birthdays. I treat them like its their special day, have a cake, gifts and prepare or take them out for a special dinner.

We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough motor on the opener. I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. He shook his head and said, 'Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower.' I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4. He said, 'NO, it's not.' Four is larger than two..'

We haven't used Sears repair since.

IDIOT SIGHTING:
My daughter and I went through the McDonald's take-out window and I gave the clerk a $5 bill. Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her a quarter. She said, 'you gave me too much money.' I said, 'Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar bill back.' She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request. I did so, and he handed me back the quarter, and said 'We're sorry but they could not do that kind of thing.' The clerk then proceeded to give me back $1 and 75 cents in change.

Do not confuse the clerks at McD's.

I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road. The reason: 'Too many deer are being hit by cars out here!
I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore.'

The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it's safe to cross the street. I was crossing with an intellectually challenged coworker of mine. She asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. At a good-bye luncheon for an old and dear coworker. She was leaving the company due to 'downsizing.' Our manager commented cheerfully, 'This is fun. We should do this more often.' Not another word was spoken. We all just looked at each other with that deer-in-the-headlights stare.

I work with an individual who plugged her power strip back into itself and for the sake of her life, couldn't understand why her system would not turn on.

When my husband and I arrived at an automobile dealership to pick up our car, we were told the keys had been locked in it. We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the drivers side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked. 'Hey,' I announced to the technician, 'its open!' His reply, 'I know. I already got that side.'

Well, that project was estimated by the manager to be several hours long. I guess that would be in corporate speak. In real time it took me an entire hour to complete the project. So for the remaining 3 hours I have I guess I'll surf the web and get paid for it.

I'm at work again. On my way out the door yesterday the Director of my department asked me to come in and work on a project for her. I had already signed up for overtime to help out another area that is backlogged. She asked me if I could give an additional 4 hours to her project. Who am I to say no to extra money. Besides all I would have been doing at this time of morning is watching "Sell this house" or some show like that. Ill be here for 10 hours today. Ill be home in time to catch the Husker game.

Last night Jeffy, our friend Cory and his girlfriend Stephanie went to Red Lobster we had the Endless Shrimp. MMM, it was yummy. I love shrimp scampi. I also had fried shrimp and coconut shrimp bites as well as Shrimp linguini alfredo. We were so stuffed by the time we left that even Jeffy, who always tells me "dont over eat, everything in moderation" was complaining he was in pain from eating too much. LOL. The waiter even brought take out boxes for the plethora of left over shrimp we had on the table. I took it home to Mikey and he pratically had his own endless shrimp dinner.

Well I better get to work and earn the time 1/2 pay. Hope y'all have a great weekend. :hugsflist:

I just dont know whats wrong with me. This morning when I wanted a snack I had about 3 banana chips. And for lunch today I had a salad with lite ranch dressing, for protein I had boiled eggs, cheese and sunflower seed. The worst thing Ive done today is drink about 1/2 a bottle of coke. I dont know who this person is that chose my menu for today but tomorrow Im getting back on track. Probably a burger, some fries and soda for lunch. Then for snacks Ill have to replenish my chocolate supply to take care of that need.

My son's ghetto ass friends.

So unbelievable, they asked it they could borrow and extra long outdoor extension cord. Can you guess where this is going???? They got their power shut off so they are hoping to run a cord to the apartment below them so they can use the neighbors power. We dont have what they were asking for and I guess they borrowed it from someone else. My son went to visit his friends and said the neighbor below them wouldnt let them plug in their extension cord. I'll say it again, these ghetto ass people ran their extension cord from their apartment to the outlet that housekeeping uses to vacuum the hallways of the buildings.

We live in a complex with security doors. Management is up on their jobs and catches this soon. My thinking is "Im sorry son, you cant pay your utilities because you cant hold a job then you learn to do without."

That may sound cold. Ive had services cut off before, and we just lived without until I could make it to the utility company to rectify the problem.

Uggh!

It’s already been one of those days. I’ve had a bottle of coke and a large cup of coke, and I’m still thirsty. I can’t find a comfortable position at my desk. My chair is too high or too low. The temperature is too warm to wear a coat but to cool not to. I can’t get my keyboard in the right position. My jaw is hurting for some reason. I don't want to be at work today.

I could go on, wahhh, wahhh, wahhh.

I had just arrived to work shortly after the 1st plane hit. We stood around the tv to watch what happened and was watching as the 2nd plane hit. I got to my office at told everyone what I had just seen. Somehow we got a small tv in our office and for the rest of the day watched the events of the day unfold in stunned, numb disbelief. It was a very surreal day to say the least.

I so want to go on a shopping spree. Buy all kinds of stuff. Spend money like theres no limits and no tomorrow. Unfortunately when I look in my wallet I have approximately $7. That doesnt make for a very fun shopping spree. Unless I went to the dollar store. I wonder if that would satisfy my need.

Hawaii palace takeover leader couldn't find throne

HONOLULU (AP) — The leader of a Hawaiian pro-sovereignty group that broke into a historic palace once home to royalty said he planned to chain himself to the throne but couldn't find it because he had never been in the palace before.

But palace officials said three locks, including those securing the throne room, were damaged. No artifacts were damaged or stolen, but the group broke into a barracks building and raised a flag on the flagpole, officials said.

Police arrested 23 people during the stunt, in which members of the Kingdom of Hawaii locked the gates to the Iolani Palace on Friday.

The leader, 67-year-old James Kimo Akahi of Haiku, claims he is the rightful king of the islands. He told reporters Saturday that he had never been in the palace before Friday and didn't know where the throne was kept.

The palace will remain closed indefinitely while curators assess damage. The state Department of Land and Natural Resources will decide when the palace can reopen, said Ruth Limtiaco, president of the Limtiaco Co., a public relations firm for the Friends of Iolani Palace.

During the takeover attempt, eight employees locked themselves in the palace and a nearby administrative building.

Several Native Hawaiian organizations have rival claims to sovereignty over the islands. Some supporters of sovereignty condemned Akahi's actions.

"That's atrocious, for him trying to sit on the throne at Iolani Palace," said Charles Kauluwehi Maxwell Sr., a priest and longtime Hawaiian activist. "James Akahi is not the king of Hawaii."

Another group calling itself the Hawaiian Kingdom Government occupied the palace grounds April 30 and has been getting permits to set up there each week since then. That group claims to be operating a functioning government from the grounds.

The 23 people arrested Friday face charges of criminal trespassing and burglary. State officers climbed over the fence a couple of hours after the takeover began.

Hawaiian activists have long used the site for protests against U.S. control of the islands. Legislation in the U.S. Senate would set up a Native Hawaiian governing entity similar to those of American Indians that could negotiate with state and federal governments over control of natural resources, lands and assets.

The ornate palace is operated as a museum of Hawaiian royalty. King Kalakaua built it in 1882, and it also served as the residence for his sister and successor, Queen Liliuokalani, the islands' last ruling monarch. Liliuokalani was later imprisoned in the palace after the monarchy fell.

How do you plan to storm a Palace and take over the throne and not do any reconnaissance to find out where the throne is first? Especially since the palace has tours open to the public.

Almost makes me embarrassed to admit I'm Hawaiian.
